One day, the Zen master asked the small monk "What is Buddha?" The small monk then raised his finger as usual. The Zen master immediately chopped his finger using a knife. The small monk was in pain and running around. The Zen master continued to ask him "What is Buddha?". He then raised his finger again, but he found out his finger was gone.
Eventually, the small monk awakened!
