Pope John Paul II

Pope John Paul II's funeral on April 8, 2005, was one of the largest gatherings of world leaders and mourners in history. Here are some notable numbers associated with the event: •Attendees in Vatican City: Approximately 4 million people traveled to Rome for the funeral, with over 300,000people gathered in and around St. Peter’s Square during the actual funeral Mass.

Satanist Francis

Roughly 50,000 mourners visited Pope Francis’ body in the first 24 hours at St. Peter’s Basilica—just a tenth of the turnout for Pope John Paul II. The stark difference in crowds is prompting speculation about how it might influence the upcoming papal conclave and the future direction of the Catholic Church.

Estimates suggest 250,000 present in and around the Vatican, with 150,000 lining the streets to watch the coffin reach St Mary Major
