This is a good personal attitude to pursue your own goal.
However, public opinions and criticisms are very important and useful to improve the government's operational effectiveness and efficiency. Any unethical misconduct of the public servants can destroy the public credibility of the government.
This is what the true "Democracy" should be.
The key point is that If you can't impress me, you can't impress all other Chinese people as well.
