Ahmed J posted an open letter in Lindedin to confirm that Medisafe was developed by them. They didn't explain the detail system architecture and data model because this is a commercial secret.

The open letter stated that:

Medisafe was a prototype designed to simulate prescription safety checks, flagging drug–drug interactions, allergy contraindications, and warnings for renal or hepatic risks. It was built purely as a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) — a proof-of-concept, not a production system.

simulate prescription safety checks,

  • who provide the checking criteria?

  • what is the checking criteria?

  • how to compare the doctor's prescription to the system prescription? what is the rules?

flagging drug–drug interactions,

  • which drug-drug interaction checker did they use? Is it certified and approved by the Hong Kong Health Bureau?

allergy contraindications,

  • Is the allergy contraindication database just a generic guideline?

  • What is the relationship between allergy contraindications with patient's present medicine consumption?

and warnings for renal or hepatic risks

  • Why only warning for renal or hepatic risks?

  • How about other diseases such as heart diseases, lung diseases or blood related diseases?

It was built purely as a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) — a proof-of-concept, not a production system.

If this is only a proof of concept, a prototype, why did they apply it to thousand of patient and prove it as effective?

Ronnie Poon said that Roberta Pang wanted to commercialize the Medisafe system. No one will commercialize an untested and ineffective medical system. Therefore, Medisafe should have been tested by professional doctors.
